Description

As can be seen in the images, the design consists of two models:

  • A central part, which tries to imitate the pistil of the flower.
  • The ring, with a pointed part for mounting.

The whole geometry of the model is inspired by a napkin ring I had at home. The photos of the reference model are in their own section at the end of the post.

To give a better idea of the dimensions, here are those of the ring:

Print Settings

Printed in PLA, without rafts, at 0.2 mm resolution and 100% infill. Since the ring part needs to have some strength and is not very large, I recommend printing it solid.

Printing the parts is fairly straightforward:

  • The pistil can be printed without supports and should be printed upright.
  • The ring part needs supports due to the tip. This part should be printed in the orientation seen on the front-side view in the previws picture or in the following one:

Assembly

As you know, the design does not include the flower. You can cut cardboard or fabric and shape it any way you want.

Once you have the leaves and the flower, you can glue the parts to the tip of the ring and attach the pistil on top of it all. If the tip is too long and leaves too much space between the parts, you can trim it.

For more durability, you can glue the pistil down into place.

Refferences

In the following pictures we can seen the napkin kolder that I used as reference:
