Description
I wanted to add the Phaetus Dragonfly BMO to my Qidi X-Plus 2 printer. The mounts on the stock dual gear extruder are an exact fit for the Dragon, but the Dragonfly mounting holes come in a 24 degree angle. So I made a modified part for easy mounting.
This is a work in progress, try at your own risk, but any feedback is appreciated.
I printed it in ABS with 50% infill, 0.2 layer height and it fits well.
You need 4x M2.5 screws 4mm long (you can probably get away with 5mm too, but I found it a bit too long) to mount the Dragonfly.
The bottom 2 holes require 2x M3 heated inserts.
Notes:
Should be printed upside down. The through holes on the legs are not threaded, so you can print them with supports then push it out with an allen key.
I also included an insert nut for the top Dragonfly Bmo, to keep the PTFE tubing in place. (The Dragonfly BMO heatsink takes a tiny piece of PTFE tubing at the top). You can print this in PLA as it's not getting any heat there.
This is a tight fit for the PTFE tube, so you can screw it in by just grabbing and twisting the PTFE tube and then cutting it. Alternatively, you can twist it in with the balled end of a ball-end hex (allen) key.
