Description

This is a remixed version of the excellent cord spool from Stubbsie to use it as a camping/travel clothesline. I added a hook to the shell of the spool and designed an another hook for the cord end.

Printing

Print in PETG or ASA/ABS with 5 perimeters for the spool shell and the lone hook. Supports are only needed for the spool.

Assembly

Use M3 screws and nuts to assemble the parts. The sprocket has to be glued in place. I used epoxy glue for that. Pay attention to the assembly of the arm: it has to be attached in the correct orientation else it won't fold flat.

The maximum cord diameter is 3 mm, that's what is on the pictures. The spool can hold about 7 meters of that. I recommend a smaller diameter cord, as it's a patience game to feed in the 3 mm one. I simply tied the rope to the spool shaft and helped the first windings with my finger. You can tape it to the shaft also after tieing.

Optionally you can press a 3x3 mm cylinder magnet into the hole on the shell to use it as lock for the arm. I think it's not necessary, the arm is hold well by the shell itself when closed. If you want the magnet lock use a longer screw for the knob and maybe add an another nut to it as a counter nut. That second nut or the screw itself will touch the magnet when the arm is in closed position. File the screw down if it protrudes too much.
