Frame replacement for any 300mm globe

Because the frame of the original Earth globe my kids used for school assignments broke, I created another one. I believe that the Earth globe is this one: https://amzn.eu/d/6tGfc00

Features:

• realistic rotation axis inclination: 23.4°
• markers for the 
  • Arctic and Antarctic circles: 66.5° N and S
  • Tropic of Cancer and of Capricorn: 23.5° N and S
• tripod base for stability
• frame holding the globe rotates into the tripod base

For reference, my globe has a diameter of 300mm, and two holes (at the N and S poles) for caps (32mm and 38mm). 

BOM:

• 3x M3 heat set insert (1 to melt into the frame's leg and two for the frame's rotation axis)
• 1x SHCS M3x6mm (to ensure that the frame sits in the base)
• 2x SHCS M3x10mm (or longer - for the globe's rotation axis)

Because 30cm seems to be a very popular size for Earth globes, I hope this can help many others. If you do not have already the globe in exactly this size at hand, a model of the globe in this size is included (see Files). It can be painted, relief can be added etc. 

Alternatively, one can print another globe, for instance this one: https://www.printables.com/model/213297-wip-5-color-topographical-earth-globe-in-high-def Please note that this model has 320mm diameter, so has to be scaled down to 93.75% and two 3mm holes must be bored at the poles.

How to print:

• I used PETG, with 40% gyroid infill, 3 perimeters, 4 top and 4 bottom layers, but other materials (PLA, ABS, ASA) can be used - except for flexibles ;)
• the frame must be quite stiff, so consider using more perimeters (5) and more infill (70-80%)
• no parts should need supports

How to assemble:

• melt the heat inserts into their locations of the frame (see pics)
• put the bearing onto the leg of the frame (square section)
• add the 6 base caps into the holes of the tripod base (press fit should suffice, if not add some glue)
• mount the frame with its bearing into the tripod frame and fix it with the M3x6mm screw
• add the caps to the poles of the globe
• mount the globe onto the frame using the two M2x10mm screws
