Description
Some time ago, XS650.com forum member Resto created Triumph-style logos for his Yamaha XS650 motorcycle. He shared photos of the design on the forum, and even had some T-shirts made. I have shared a similar design here previously, but today Resto shared some high-quality photos. With his permission I have created SVG and STL files for these logos, for the use of anyone who has an XS650.
As a note for those who don't get the “joke” here: Yamaha XS650 (originally XS1 and XS2) motorcycles were built as “clones” of the popular British bikes of the 1960's such as BSA, Norton, and of course Triumph. These logos have the same “swoosh” along the bottom as a Triumph logo. While they will work fine wherever you want to use them, only the XS650 was a “clone” of the classic British engine designs.
Resto's original designs were hand made, and have a certain artistic irregularity. I have tried hard to retain that look in these designs, so don't complain if they aren't perfect enough.
As always, you may wish to resize the 3D models for printing; only the one with the mounting holes should be printed at the given size. That one fits the 1980 and later tanks, but may not fit earlier model years.
The quality of the print in the photo is not really up to snuff; I'm running an 0.6mm nozzle, and there are some irregularities that wouldn't probably be there with an 0.4mm nozzle. Also, these logos are flat, and may need to be heated gently to make them match the curve of your tank or side panel.
