Armrest Lock: Herman Miller Aeron

This model locks the arm rests to one position of your choosing by replacing the indexing component inside the arm rest with a fixed piece.

There are 11 plate options labeled -5 to +5. The more negative a number, the further outwards the arms will point. The more positive a number the more inwards the arms will point. Zero will be straight.

There are two versions:

Simple Locks: Slightly smaller, bi-directional

Stiff Locks: Design reduces wiggle, has a left and right version

For installation you will need:

• A large Philips head screwdriver
• A ½" socket or wrench

Installation instructions:

1. Unscrew the two Philips screws from bottom and remove the armrest cushion.

2. Remove the two bolts.

3. Remove the metal structure, plastic trim and plastic indexer.

4. Replace the indexer with your printed position piece. It should be a tight fit.

5. Replace the trim and metal structure.

6. Flip down the attached, plastic spacers and install the two bolts with their spring washers.

7. Replace the cushion and screw in the Philips head screws.
