Description
Hey team,
Once again making something to suit a particular need. Safes sometimes have interior compartments which are used to store ammunition or other valuables. Occasionally, like in my case, this interior door doesn't have a handle of any kind to remove attack vectors.
In this case I presume the manufacturer would expect you to use the key to pry open the door once unlocked but this isn't a good idea long-term.
Recently I was using a magnetic hook with a steel body but it was scratching the paint.
As a result I have put together a simple design which can print without supports and accepts two 20 mm x 6 mm x 3 mm neodymium magnets.
I've printed this in PETG, but you could use just about anything. A vise is useful for press fitting the magnets into place, they won't come loose in a hurry.
Hope somebody out there finds this useful :-)
Cheers
