DJI Mini Arm Cover with increased stiffness

If you own a DJI Mavic Mini (1), you might notice a wobbling of the front arms in cold conditions or with strong winds, which can even cause the props to hit the body and crash.

This is caused by the low torsion strength of the original arm structure, which is only covered with a soft foam cover. These printed lightweight covers are designed to replace these soft covers 1:1.

WARNING:

Please be aware that the following modification is done on your own risk and will void the warranty of your Mavic!

1. First, remove the soft covers carefully with a hairpin or a wooden stick, and take care not to damage the motor cables inside the arm.

2. Remove all rubber-like glue residues inside the arm

3. Place the printed covers into the arms, you will find a (L)eft and (R)ight version in the STL file

4. Use some drop of CA glue to fix the covers (press the covers slightly to the arms, using a piece of tape on top to avoid your fingers getting stuck)

5. If the covers are placed, add some more drops of CA glue to fix it all around to the arm, but use only a very small amount and be careful that no glue runs inside the arm (it could harm the hinge or the brushless motor)

6. Check the weight of your drone, with my mini, the weight increased by only ca. 1g, so it was still safe below 250g

7. Go and fly, and enjoy the increased stability!
