CNC Jog & Shuttle Hand wheel / Pendant

I developed this hand wheel for my DIY CNC milling machine, designed with OpenScad completely from scratch.

With OpenScad and the included remarks in the CAD source code, you can easily adapt the design for your own needs, e.g. to match different display, jogwheel or keyboard sizes.

The housing is made from a top and bottom shell which contain the electronic components:

A) Bottom Shell contains:

• Arduino Pro Mini Microcontroller

B) Top Shell contains:

• OLED 0.91" monochrome display (I2C interface)
• Jog & Shuttle wheel from Mitsumi, taken from an old VCR Panasonic remote control
• Keyboard made of 8 pushbuttons on a small PCB

Arduino Code handles everything and interfaces with the CNC machine controller with Gcodes via the serial port.
