Description
Unless you're only 4 feet tall, the xLCD screen on the XL is mounted too low and at the wrong angle (well, for someone with my poor eyesight anyway). These brackets allow you to raise the xLCD up to adult height and adjust to a better viewing angle. They also move the xLCD inboard, so it doesn't stick out the front of the printer (my bench is only 60cm deep). And, yes, I took the print bed lowering into consideration, there's plenty of room.
You'll need 2x M3x12 screws and 2x M3 nuts as well as the M3x16 screws and M3nEs nuts that are on the printer. (M3nEs are the spring clip nuts in the channel in the frame)
Given the limited length of the xLCD ribbon cable and PE grounding wire, you'll have to move the xLCD all the way to the right (unless you create your own that is not quite so tall).
To install:
I've provided the Fusion 360 .f3d file. The height to raise the LCD, the distance to move the LCD inwards, and the angle to rotate the screen towards horizontal (from the original 45°) are all parameterised.
