Description
Example of this specific part here.
The OTB-4 oxygen tank mounts for crash carts frequently break. Given that Waterloo Healthcare supplies over 5,230 hospitals with over 100,000 crash carts, the widespread issue of mount breakage underscores the importance of a durable, cost-effective solution such as 3D printed replacement parts.
This was modeled to be as close to the original design as possible both functionally and aesthetically. The replacement is nice and sturdy with PLA and functions exactly the same as the original, please see the photos.

In the fast-paced and hectic environment of and emergency room, equipment is constantly on the move and under pressure. The urgency of healthcare often leads to rapid decisions and actions, inevitably resulting in wear and tear on essential tools and machinery. Crash carts, for instance, are frequently pushed around during critical situations. This often leads to accidental collisions with walls and other obstacles, causing components to break or wear out over time.
Utilizing 3D printing for replacement parts in hospitals, such as this OTB-4 bracket, is both sustainable and cost-effective. When hospitals can fabricate specific components on-demand, they sidestep the often expensive and wasteful practice of bulk purchasing. This approach conserves resources, fostering a more eco-friendly healthcare system. Moreover, this self-reliance not only reduces overheads but also expedites the repair process, guaranteeing that essential equipment remains operational with minimal downtime.
I wonder if I can convince my boss to purchase a 3D printer for my department after showing her this? :D

This is a public domain model.
Making healthcare-related models public domain ensures that a wide range of hospitals and medical facilities, irrespective of their size or budget, can access and benefit from 3D printable solutions. It fosters collaborative improvement and encourages the healthcare community to share and build upon innovations, ultimately enhancing patient care and operational efficiency on a larger scale.
