Respirator Valvy [ad:hoc] Covid-19

Yet another easy printable and usable cigar pipe style respirator. (Pocket Size. Ad hoc basis!!! )

HEPA filter mount STL and customizable scad here.

Uses up to 10mm thickness Ply Filter. Respirator weight 18gram.

I made this not just for the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus. I would suggest everybody should keep one in bag. (eg. confined space [ lift | elevator | transport ] && someone sneeze)

Good for PLA. But highly recommended flexible material to play it safe.

Share the same filter cover cap and Valve Disc set of "Flexible Mask Valvy"

All those cover STL supposed to print by flexible material. You will need to scale up a little bit for PLA.

About the case:

-No support

-Raft with Extra Margin 20mm

-5 raft top layers

-turn off headbed after the raft (Let the contact point from raft to the case become cool and rigid)

-raft to case air grap 0.18 (See pic. done by layer height 0.1mm)

-hairdryer to deform and fit. Annealing can sink the size of cap a little bit. (See pic with dremel taper. same to mouth piece cover)

About the valves:

-Disc must free to move so do not seam too tight.

Notes:

-Use any filter you trust. Personally I use 6ply of 3M Filtrete™ (Air Cleaning Filter - Ultra Allergen Reduction)

-May try odourless anti-bacterial wet wipes as filter. (dry. dehydrated before cut & use)

-Avoid moisturized filament which result in porous structure.
