Description
This is a cost-effective & minimal design fully enclosed printer; capable of 600mm/s at 30K acceleration and reaching upto 50c chamber temperature. Bill of Materials (BOM) stands at $260, which is quite reasonable.
I have tested printing speed up to 400mm/s at 15K acceleration but its not limited to this. You can go higher with LGX type extruders or maybe tune Sherpa Micro which I have used.
This printer draws inspiration from the Panda Mini and The100 printers in its design.
I'm using off-the-shelf parts, including standard 2020 extrusion sizes of 300 and 400, eliminating the need for tapping or drilling.
All parts are designed to be printed without requiring support except X gantry mount. You should have a printer with at least a 220x180 build area to accommodate the print bed.
For the bed, this printer utilizes a aluminum or glass bed with a silicone heating pad, although a custom aluminum bed will be best.
The toolhead is a Rapid Burner v7 with a modified volcano mount taken from Dragon Burner.
BOM should include all the necessary parts to build the printer. I'm here to gather feedback and make improvements.
Note: I printed these parts on my calibrated Neptune 3 Pro. Tolerances for linear rod & linear bearing are 8.1mm & 15.1mm about 0.1mm respectively. However Polymer bearings for XY requires no tolerances.
Enclosure is done now, I will move to electronics. BOM is not update for enclosure.
Complete electronics & spool holder done. BOM also updated for enclosure.
Its completed and printing at 400mm/s at 15K just fine. I have gone for Rapid Burner toolhead, now you can print flexible as well. Also I have opted for aluminum bed instead of glass and using frost glass surface with glue stick for best ABS adhesion.
