Description
This plate will provide a mount for SKR E3 mini V3 in FLSUN QQ-S Pro. The plate is fine in PLA, no support, and just about any settings.
It is designed to re-use the screws from the OEM board. They self-tap and hold just fine.
The board is mounted on an obscure angle on the plate but it works out about the only way it can. I pass the micro-USB through the RG45 hole. It could make some sense to install something to keep the micro-USB cable from wearing where it touches the metal but I use cables from Dollarama and am not all that worried about it.
I've thought of creating a mount that provides for both the E3 mini V3 and an rPi 4b but it would be a tight fit and I like to keep the pi in open air where it can cool. Plus, I use rPi cameras so the pi needs to be fairly close to the cam. If someone wants an all-in-one solution, I might consider working on it. Drop me a note.
I'd like to say the SKR E3 mini V3 is a really sweet board; ideal for the QQ-S Pro. Using 16 micro steps, quality is extremely good. It's a great solution that I would recommend to a QQ-S Pro user who is not afraid to walk over hot coals to get the whole thing wired and configured.
I've been running Klipper for the last while. I may upload my configs for others to use. Print speeds max out at 200mm/s with the stock nozzle. I will play with a CHT and see how that goes. There is some ringing. X&Y frequencies are around 20Hz so the chassis could use some stiffening. I plan to add some stiffening elements but not go much further than that. The QQ-S Pro is a wonderful printer but it will never be a Voron.
Happy printing!
