Homewerks 7141-50 Replacement Lens

I recently purchased this bathroom vent with ceiling light open-box only to find out later that the diffuser lens was cracked. At this part of the story I think the average Joe would be stuck with a broken light fixture… but not this Joe!

Behold my incredible replacement lens! It includes a floral pattern that instantly makes it 10x better than the original.

Now if you've managed to read this far I'm assuming A: you either have this exact light or B: you just are a strange individual who enjoys reading about broken light fixtures. Either way, lets continue.

WHAT YOU NEED:

• A broken 7141-50 Ventilation Fan with Light (not a broken fan, I can't help you with that, you know what i mean)
• A large printer (Like really big!) 290mm x 290mm
• Phillips screwdriver
• Lighter

Seriously, you have this same broken light and a printer that can actually print this? I'm not mad I'm just surprised… seriously. I guess that means I'll have to actually write instructions for you to follow.

INSTRUCTIONS:

• Disassemble light fixture by removing the 4 Phillips screws

• Next pop the lens out, gently press the the tabs to carefully remove the lens. Handle the cracked lens with care and softly, but still gently, dispose of it.

• Next print the replacement lens. I recommend clear PETG.

Life Hack: this creates a subtle elegant appearance to the lens.

Also a textured bed is nice, I chose a powder coated bed because I did.

• Place the lens in the light fixture, and grab your lighter! Please, be an adult, otherwise find one. Lay the lenses and fixture on a flat surface and heat the printed tabs up slightly until they become slightly flexible, one at a time.

• Using your hands gently press the tabs outward to overlap the fixture, hold them until they freeze in place. you may want to where gloves here, I did not, now my hands hate me.

• Reassemble the light fixture, plug the light into the vent, and reattach to the vent.
