Description
I made a mount for attaching a cheap flashlight to bike handle bars. I don't bike much so I didn't want to buy a dedicated bike light (and I enjoy any excuse to design something).
It's designed to grip onto both a 1" (or in my case 1.08") diameter flashlight and 1" diameter bike handlebar.
The two mounts were printed from PLA, using 4 perimeters and 30% infill at .1 mm layer height (though .15 or .2 mm would likely work just fine). The rubber seals were printed from TPU. The seals were just a fun experiment and not necessary. They could be replaced with some grippy tape on the inside of the mounts or might work without anything at all.
The two mount parts were glued together using Scigrip 16 methyl glue and the seals and nuts were attached with superglue (for convenience only). The flashlight mount uses stainless steel, 8-32 x 5/8" screws and the handlebar grip uses 8-32 x ½" screws (but could use 5/8" as well, or significantly longer). Square 8-32 nuts were embedded in the mount.
I bought this flashlight from Menards:
