Pencil-style G2 Pen

If your Pilot™ pen breaks, or if you'd just like to try a more pencil-like look and feel, then consider this as a replacement.

Pen

Print in spiral vase mode, with external-perimeter extrusion width of 1.1mm, using a raft for stability. Stuff a Pilot™ G2 ink cartridge into the pen, back end first. It should fit snugly, with friction holding it in place. If it won't quite stay put, then apply a bit of weak adhesive such as gluestick or hairspray to a small portion of the ink cartridge's surface, and reinsert. If it won't quite go in, then you might consider decreasing any of the following settings:

• your slicer's XY size compensation (aka “horizontal expansion”)
• the extrusion width of your external perimeters, in your slicer
• your printer's flow factor

When your ink cartridge runs dry, press it out through the small hole at the back end of the pen and insert a new ink cartridge in its place.

Cap

If you need a cap for this pen, consider burying its tip in a pencil eraser cap. It goes on easier if you predrill a hole inside the cap for the pen's tip. This also resolves the eraser's tendency to pull the ink cartridge out of the pen, which may otherwise occur depending on how tightly your pen shaft grips your ink cartridge.

When it's not in use as a pen-tip cap, the eraser can adorn the pen's rear to contribute to the illusion that this pen is a pencil.
