Description
What?
Replacement part for safety and locking mechanism in the Philip HR7768 blender cup.
What does it do?
The white part in the photo is the original. Its purpose was to engage the safety mechanism, allowing the blender to start blending only when the cup is mounted correctly. Additionally, it served to secure the blender cup in ints working position.
What happened?
After it broke for the first time, it was initially glued (with a bit of plastic melting). However, this fix didn't last long. It was glued again, but this time only for taking measurements. The part was redesigned from scratch in CAD. The replacement part fulfils both original goals.
Modifications?
The new part has been slightly modified (compared to original) to provide more strength, ensuring that it won't require repairs again.
Printing?
It was printed from PETG with automatic regular supports on bed, using a 0.2mm layer.
Assembly?
The original part is attached to the blender cup using two plastic pins melted at the end. To replace it, you'll need to cut these pins (using sharp knife or similar tool) and carefully remove the original part. Remove supports from printed part, place the replacement part, and slightly melt the pins again using a soldering iron.
Can I modify it for my needs?
Absolutely! The Fusion 360 source project is included.
