Description
I've been grinding a lovely single origin yirgacheffe lately, but as the beans are small I've had a few of them get stuck down in the gap around where the grinder handle fits onto the burr drive axle. I've also had the occasional bounce back when loading beans - usually when I'm careless first thing in the morning and in a hurry to get my first cup of the day. I wasn't particularly happy with the other funnel designs out there and felt like doing a hack job in OpenSCAD anyways so I banged this funnel out and decided to share it with the world.
A few notable and key features:
Prints in one piece without supports!
Docks on top of the grinder for storage!
Made out of triangles!
Infinitely printable!
I used black Prusament PETG, 0.15mm Quality preset w/ 50% infill (probably overkill). I don't see any reason why other filaments and presets wouldn't work though the press fit may be a little snug on PLA.
This is the “final” version v3. v1 was simply a mockup I framed out over a couple of beers and never printed. v2 turned out almost exactly perfect but was roughly 1mm too short and didn't sit flat on top of the grinder. I've never let good enough get in the way of perfection, so we made a v3 and here we are. It makes sense that you need a v3 funnel for a MKIII coffee grinder anyways.
