Description
The Augmented Reality (AR) Sandbox is a demonstrator for augmented reality and can be built with simple means.
You will need a set of metric screws and aluminum system profiles as well as the corresponding connectors such as aluminum angles or sliding blocks. Furthermore, a VR capable PC and a Kinect camera are required.
For the construction 20x20 and 20x40 profiles were used.
The box was made of 21 mm multiplex wood and placed on two euro pallets with wheels.
Commercially available quartz sand was used as sand. In general, any kind of sand can be used, but fine white sand is recommended.
