ROS: Components for Random Orbit Sander five-inch (125mm) disk storage.
ROS mount
ROS mount, along with tray, grid, and align, form storage containers for different grits of 5-inch (125mm) sanding disks. This print is a mounting bracket. The two semicircles are joined with barbecue skewers trimmed to a length to accommodate your stack of nested trays. The beveled holes in the foreground semicircle admit #8 wood screws for mounting. The other semicircle is shorter, giving a screwdriver straight access to the mounting screws. I recommend fixing the skewers with epoxy. Try a gap filling CA adhesive if that's all you have.
ROS tray
The tray holds about ten 5-inch (125mm) sanding disks, and it nests with other trays. For greater capacity you can adjust the height, or Z-axis, with your slicer. I suppose enlarging X and Y by the ratio 6/5 should accommodate 6-inch (150mm) sanding disks. Each tray caps the one below it. To cap the uppermost tray, use the next item, the grid. If you nest the trays, only one grid is needed.
ROS grid
Trays have integrated bottoms but no tops since they are designed to nest atop each other. Thus each tray bottom caps the tray below. The uppermost tray may be capped with this insert.
ROS align
This add-on was inspired by a video showing how aligning vacuum holes was made easy by inserting a couple of short dowels in diagonally opposite holes on the sander's pad. This tool does the same thing. Feed the posts into the sanding face of the disk then into the holes on the sander's pad. Voila, instant alignment. If you would like a better version, look around a little more. I did see a design that incorporated the alignment pins into the tray. The pins aligned the disks with each other and allowed for easy mounting of the top disk onto the sander.
