Tab / Spring for battery lid of Canon EOS Rebel T3

The plastic spring inside the battery lid of my Canon EOS Rebel T3 camera broke and I could not find a replacement part online (they would only sell the complete lid enclosure, which had a cost around 10 € + shipping), so I modeled just the part I needed and printed it for just a few cents :).

To get the best results, print it with the orientation shown in the last 2 pictures, taken straight from Cura.

Note: If your printer is not tuned for dimensional accuracy on the Z-axis, you might have better luck printing the “slim” model.

How to install replacement:

1. Open the battery lid and remove the three screws seen in pic 2.
2. Remove the cover.
3. Take out the old spring / tab and put in the newly printed one.
4. Put the cover back on, add the screws and you are all set!
