The Sackimesser from Schmiedeglut comes with a belt loop that is really good for carrying your knife at belt height. This does not work with a rucksack that has a hip belt. This dangler puts the knife lower on your belt, below the hip belt from a rucksack.
There are two versions available. One uses a locking carabiner and the other a rectangular metal ring. The part for the locking carabiner requires less screws and is easier to print. The part for the metal ring looks cleaner / more professional.
2x M3x16 screw. I recommend you get a “Linsenkopf mit Flansch ISO 7380-2”/ “flansch head” screw large enough that it will not fit through the holes in the sheath. Alternatively a regular screw with a washer works fine as well.
2x M3 locking nuts
2x M3 washers on nut side or 4x M3 washers if you use regular size screws. Get large washers with a diameter of around 8,8mm (ISO 7093-1)
For the belt loop
A piece of leather 2,5mm thick and 25 to 30mm wide. The length depends on how far down you want your knife to be. I am using a piece 30mm wide and 22cm long.
2x Prym 390201 push buttons if you want to make the belt removable Make sure you get the “Outdoor” version “390201 ” of these buttons as they are designed to provide a stronger connection.

2x M3x8 screws to close the loop around the metal ring. Same screw type as above but shorter (ISO 7380-2)
2x M3 locking nuts
2x M3 flange nuts / Flanschmuttern (DIN 6923 / ISO 4161)
2x M3 washers on nut side or 4x M3 washers if you use regular size screws. Get large washers with a diameter of around 8,8mm (ISO 7093-1)

Printing Information for locking carabiner
1x Sacki Tek-Lok.stl
2x Sacki Tek-Lok Pin.stl
Print Settings:
Perimeters 3
Infill: 20%
Make sure you orient the part as shown in the image to ensure maximum strength towards the carabiner. This will prevent layer separation under load.
The part does not need support if you print it as shown
I recommend using either PETG or hard TPU for printing.
Printing Information for metal ring
1x Sacki Tek-Lok Ring 4mm.stl
2x Sacki Tek-Lok Pin.stl
1x Sacki Tek-Lok Ring 4mm - Tube.stl
print the tube slowly in TPU, I manually set the print speed to 25% on the printer
This part is not strictly required. It keeps the metal ring from rattling inside the PETG loop

Assembly of locking carabiner version
Insert the two printed pins through the sheath from the outside. Insert the M3x16 screws in the same direction.
Push the Dangler onto the screws, add washers and the locking nuts. Apply thread lock and tighten screws to 0,7Nm
Beginn by heating up the loop of the printed part to around 40 to 60C. This ensures the PETG can flex more when inserting the metal loop. I use the exhaust heat from my laptop. Alternatively use the heat bed of your printer.
Put the TPU ring around one side of the metal ring
Use a flat hat screw driver to carefully bend the loop hook open. Only bend it far enough to insert the metal ring. Pull the metal ring until it snaps into place. Ensure that the TPU ring is still around the metal ring.
Apply red thread lock to the loop screws (M3x12) to close the loop around the metal ring. Tighten screws to 0,7Nm

Cut your leather strip to a length that will ensure that the knife will hang below the hip belt of your rucksack. For me this is 220mm long.
Mark two holes on both sides for the push fasteners. First hole 15mm from the top and the second 40mm. This doesn't have to be exact but it has to match on both ends so that the holes line up.
Install the push fasteners so that one side has the buttons and the other side the male part.
