Description
I hadn't realized the NSPanel Pro's were made for european gang boxes. These two pieces can be used to replace a 2 gang wall switch with an NSPanel Pro with a clean finish. The base plate has holes to screw onto a typical US 2-gang box. I stole the screws from one of the light switches that was removed.
Feed one set of wires (hot, neutral, ground) through the center square of the base plate. Then Screw the base plate into the gang box. There are 4 holes that should align with the holes on the gang box.
Before separating the NS Panel Pro from the transformer, make a note of how things align and importantly which way is up. Then using a tiny flathead screwdriver there is a little tab on the side where you can pry the two parts apart. I've also found that just pulling firmly apart will do the trick (This is easier when mounted on the wall).
Connect your hot and neutral wires to the transformer that comes with the NS Panel Pro. Also for safety you should attach your ground wire to the metal front plate (where the NS Panel snaps on) on the transformer. Then you can screw the transformer into the remaining two drill holes in the base plate (make sure it isn't upside down!).
Finally, snap the NS Panel Pro back onto the transformer, and then snap the face plate onto the base plate to cover all the ugly bits. Be careful to not bend the pins out of shape when attaching the NS Panel Pro. It can take a few tries to get things aligned, but the pins are annoying to straighten out, so don't force anything. When you start to apply pressure to snap the screen back on, if the screen isn't turning on …the pins are probably not aligned!
