Minisforum HM90 downside cooling is a case thats attaches to the bottom of the minicomputer and holds two 2.5inch disks with a fan that cools all components from the bottom.
If you want to recreate this you will need:
- 1x 140mm fan, like:
- 2x Sata extension cables(30cm), like:
- 8x Screws for the disks
- 8x Screws for the case and fan
When you have all the parts you will have to:
- Connect the drives to the extension cables
- Screw the drives in with the extension cable under the disk
- Modify the fan like shown on the pictures so it will fit into the case
- Screw the fan into place (keep in mind to put the extension cables aside the fan like shown in the pictures)
- Get the motherboard out of the case
- Use wire taps (in German “Strom Diebe”) to “steal” to power from the original fan for our Fan
- Yellow → +12V
- Black → Ground
- now put everything back together and connect the disks
- Screw the bottom to the original case
And you are Finished!
