Description
The realization of Mona Lias's frame model was part of an insane commission that I had only one week for. I have printed several parts in true scale and glued a total of 20 pieces onto a wooden frame. I don't expect you to print out the frame in its true scale and for that reason, I've added a print-in-place picture frame, where you can add the frame panels with the original DaVinci's ornaments.
The main frame structure has print-in-place legs that can be opened and closed depending on your preferred viewing position. The ornamented panels need to be glued to the main frame structure. I've cut out the back panel of some board made of hard cardboard, but there's a file with a printable back panel. At last, there are these half circular latching buttons that are secured with M2x7mm screws holding the picture and the back panel in place.
The 1:1 scale frame was printed mainly on my Ender 5 Plus as it has the biggest print bed out of my printers. With Ender's 35x35 cm print bed, I was able to cut up the frame into 20 pieces while printing each one without supports.
