Description
The otherwise very practical IKEA lamp, for clipping onto a shelf, has unfortunately broken. Both parts of the clamp broke after only a few years and the whole lamp could no longer be used. In FreeCAD I designed a replacement part for it, which corresponds to the original, but is stronger at the points where the highest forces act.
MainBody-V3 changes:
Insert the original rubber pads on both sides.
Screw the lamp stem into the intended M8 thread. A tip if the M8 thread is too narrow, you could widen it a little with an M8 screw or a thread tap.
Solder the cable and then insulate the soldered connections with heat-shrink tubing.
Use the original M6 grub screw to fix the cable in the strain relief. You've done it, that's it.
For the rotation axis I use a M3 x 40 mm flat head screw, which is 3 mm too long.
I shortened the screw by 3 mm.
To secure the screw I used a self-locking M3 nut.
My clip is working great for 2 years now.
Have fun fixing your Ikea lamp.
