Description

Was annoyed at how the Atlas Headrest has too much play side to side. This tiny 5g print will remove lots of play between the pieces. It's very low profile and barely visible.

Prints flat with no supports, then flexes into place during installation.

Installation

To install, you'll need to remove the top piece of the neck and slip this piece in between during re-installation which can be a bit tricky. Here's what I found worked.

  1. Use the allen key to remove the screw from the neck.
  2. Use a small flathead screwdriver or something similar to hook the little plastic retainer piece from the bottom and pull it out.
    1. It's easiest if the neck is tilted all the way back at this point.
  3. The top piece should freely slide from the base, with the bracket falling free.
  4. Slip the top piece of the headrest through the print and up at least a few inches. Wedge/hold/tape in place.
  5. Put the bracket in place by sliding it into the bottom neck piece and holding it forward(toward the chair).
  6. Slip the top neck into the bottom neck until the bottom is past the bracket enough for the plastic retainer.
  7. This should free up your hand to install the plastic retainer from the bottom.
  8. Put the screw back into place and just screw to finger tight.
  9. From behind the chair, press the rounded top piece into position around the neck, it's going to be a tight fit.
  10. Back to the bracket on the neck, remove the screw and bend the print into position so the insert sits inside the screw hole.
  11. Re-insert the screw, this time tightening to it's final position.

To remove, reverse these steps/cut at the bend and remove from there. There is a little tab to help with removal from the top neck piece.
