Description
Hello, this is a new model that i thought of while I was watching a movie a couple years ago, I tried to carve it out of wood, but failed miserably. Lets skip forward a couple years, now I am (on a very small scale) a 3d designer. And as I was thumbing through my sketchbook, I ran into the drawings that I made in my first attempt to make this, and I was like, “wow, I should definitely try to 3d print this”. that being said, I drew up this design in a couple days, printed it in a couple more, and viola, here it is! for all of the public, and my (at the time of this models posting) singular follower, to download! :)
Disclaimer- this model is not good for keeping real people out of your real house! One good swing of a hammer, and this model goes “kablooey”! It's simply for fun, (I mean c'mon, just flip it over and it unlocks due to gravity), to bring the concept into a physical model that you can see and touch.
Anyways, down to business. This, as the title implies, is a locking slide bolt consisting of three main parts: the bolt, the lock, and the key (it ain't rocket science). The bolt and lock files need supports to print correctly, the key does not. Once you have all these parts printed, assembly is very simple and fairly straightforward, but if you have trouble, just follow the pictures. And of course, let me know if there are any problems with the model itself, and I will do my best to fix it, happy printing!
Note- there is one part that is optional, the Bolt_Sleeve. This is simply what the bolt would slide into when in the locked position, but is not necessary unless your actualy trying to lock something up.
