Description
Medallion with secret compartment, great for children.
Inspired by octopus pirate medallion by @SpaceWarpStud_594471, design made from scratch using original octopus model from Octopus by Nihlton - Thingiverse.
Model with blank face provided - you can drop any design or embossed text on there directly in slicer to make customized medallion.
I printed it from PLA, 0.15 mm layer height. Prints were reliable, only support removal is quite fiddly and needs patience and good tools. Support placement is critical for easier removal, see attached pictures with hand-drawn supports with clearance.
Small inner knob on compartment cover needs to slide smoothly to corresponding notch on medallion body. You may need to clear the notch or file the knob slightly if pendant is not closing and opening smoothly.
