Bench Cookie ++

I wanted some bench cookies but nowhere shipped them fast for a reasonable price. Amazon sells foam with 2 day shipping and I have a printer. Improvise, adapt, overcome.

What you will need:

1. 5/16"-18 Flanged Hex Nut
2. 1/8" Adhesive Backed Neoprene Sheet

These use the same 5/16"-18 thread as the Rockler cookies so in theory they should be compatible with their standoffs. I don't own any of the Rockler cookies so if you do, please print one and let me know how it works! I can always tailor the design so they are cross compatible.

I was really impressed with how well the linked neoprene sheets worked for this application! I bought a second contingency sheet that I ended up not using at all since the first one had great adhesive, was very soft to the touch and grippy, and was firm enough to bear the weight of larger workpieces.

If you try your own foams or flanged nuts from different suppliers, post photos, purchase links, and let us know which ones you do or don't like!

I am still awaiting the delivery of the flanged nuts so I can't vouch that it is a perfect fit for the linked product yet. I'll post an update when they come in.
