Sometimes you run out of slug pellets, or maybe you don't want to use them for some reason, but still the evil slimy rotters come in the night and eat your plants.
Distract the slugs with a beer trap!
Print it out in PETG, ABS or similar, and half fill the pool with your local mollusc's favourite tipple. Hopefully they will get drunk and go home, although sometimes drinking out of a pool isn't safe.
Printing Instructions
- Use PETG or a similar material that survives being outside in direct sunlight
- No supports required
- The tent can be a little messy underneath but only the slugs will see so don't worry!
- Add a brim to the tent unless you are really confident the thin edges will stick well
- When printing the sign, you might want to add a colour change for the lettering
- Print the chain links at 0.10mm layer height
- Print 10 instances of the chain links
Assembly Instructions
- Push five chain links together at 90 degree angles at the tapered ends and then rotate one link 180 degrees, repeat for second chain
- Mount the chains on the pillar hooks and then mount the sign on the chains
- Add a little bit of superglue at both ends of each chain to secure things if they fall off the hooks too easily
- You may need to waterproof the pool area (depending on your printer/filament)
- Fill up enough for slugs to swim with some beer
- Pop the roof on
