Description
I wanted to call it a heart attack preventer. But that might be seen as false advertising.
When the printer is going in the other room, you know you're listening for untoward sounds. The one that gets me every time is the loud snap when the filament hangs up on the sides of the spool holder where it grips the top of the frame, then springs free, snapping against another part of the frame. It practically gives me a heart attack when I'm late in a long print, thinking something has come unstuck and I've lost the print.
This should help. It doesn't look like much, but the tapered edges should prevent most hang-ups on the spool holder mount, so the filament will just travel back and forth without snapping violently from time to time.
I know there are now fancy filament guides that will also prevent this. This pair of clips is simpler and smaller, and quicker to print and install.
Given that the spool holder works for all models from Mk2 to Mk4, I assume this will work for all of them too. Mine is a Mk3S.
