Description
Hello,
Here's a display adapter designed for my Shansu CP-6 scooter that uses this type of display: https://pl.aliexpress.com/item/1005005964002975.html
It's a chinese “harley” style electric scooter. Shansu is the original manufacturer, but it's sold under different commercial names, like CityCoco, BiliCoco, EcoScooty, etc., depending on the market. The original display is OK-ish, but it's very badly positioned, it's facing the sky rather than the riders face. Also, the display is bolted on a support that is not matching it's size or shape in any way, so it basically looks ugly and cheap. The purpose of this adapter is to fix that and reposition the display 30deg, this way it's facing the rider perfectly. The adapter also includes a bit of a “sunshade”, but it's mainly for styling reasons.
Once printed it is easy to install - the display is mounted using original nuts, the adapter has threaded M5 slots on the bottom to install to the scooter (use M5x10 screws). You might need to tap the thread there.
The model has some steep overhangs, so I recommend printing with decrease layer height. I recommend printing in ASA - it will withstand the outside conditions, direct sunlight exposure, UV…and gives a nice satin finish, that matches the rest of scooter's plastics. Of course black is the only acceptable color!
My printing settings that yielded a good quality result: 0.4nozzle, standard 0.4mm line width, 0.16 layer height.
