Description
Housing for a MH-RD rain sensor module like this one:

The base box is large enough to hold additional sensors and micro controllers. It also has a slit for a power cable. The surface texture on the base is from Mikolas Zuza's awesome media control volume knob.
OpenSCAD files are included so that you can easily adjust the design to your needs.
I printed the box body and the sensor cover on the textured PEI sheet. I also used supports for the cable opening in the body. You might not need them, but they are easy to remove.
Remove the pin headers from the rain sensor PCB and solder your cable directly to it. Screw the small pole to the base plate using two M3x8 or M3x10 screws, then run the cable through the center hole, and carefully snap the PCB onto the plastic pins. Note that the sensor cover lid is not symmetrical: The upper, short edge has a cut-out for the cable connector. The lower short edge has a drain slit.
Use an M3x14+ screw with two washers as the hinge for the two poles.
You might want to protect the underside of the sensor PCB from corrosion, eg. by covering it with some adhesive tape. Once the upper surface is weathered you can flip the PCB upside-down and and remove the tape …
