Description
Anycubic's Wash and Cure 2.0 came with iron magnets and a steel ball bearing in the wash tank. They rust over time and contaminate the wash tank submerged the fluid (90% IPA is 10% water.) Anycubic will sell you a replacement rotor if yours is out of warranty, not sure if that one has the same problem or not.
The bigger of the 2 issues is the rusting iron magnets that generate a lot of debris that ends up in the cracks and crevices of your models.
They ship a spare bearing that will replace the original and keep it working for quite a while.
Use this model to replace the rusty magnets with ten 6mm diameter x 3mm thick neodymium magnets encapsulated inside, screwed in the same locations as the original magnets.
Print | I printed in PETG, that seems to hold up pretty well to the IPA. You mileage may vary with this or other filament. Print the bottom layers thin so you get a good seal where the magnets are close to the surface. I have a .6mm nozzle so printed the bottom 3 layers at .15 thick, the rest at .4.
Orient with the large round surface on the print bed. Part will orient automatically correctly in PrusaSlicer.
Pause the print at 4 mm to insert the magnets. Check the orientation of the magnets on the wash and cure base before installing. The parts print right-side-up relative to the wash and cure base.
Assembly | Dump your fluid into a separate bucket and let all the particles settle to the bottom. Remove the rotor from the wash container. Remove and replace the bearing. Remove the magnets. Install the new magnets and reinstall the rotor.
Pour the clean fluid back into your wash container and leave the debris behind in a small amount of fluid in the bottom of the bucket. Dispose of that properly.
Now get back to printing interesting stuff on your resin machine, like this Great Blue Heron skull from the Idaho Museum of Natural History.
Other | Designed in Solidworks for Makers.
Printed with Atomic Filament Gunmetal Gray PETG (great material).
