Description
This case attaches to Molle mounts on a vest. so that your phone can flip down for easy viewing. Prints in two parts and uses jeweler hinges for strength and reliability (versus a weaker printed hinge). The phone is secured by 1.2 mm elastic cord. The elastic cord is also looped around the molle plate and threaded through the molle strap to keep the hinge closed when not in use. The reverse side can take velcro adhesive for patches or other attachments.
I designed this for a friend and I know it will fit a phone the size of a Samsung Galaxy s23 Ultra with an Otterbox on it (pictured is an iPhone 14+). He has had zero issues with it breaking and the phone has never fallen out. The elastic can be adjusted for each sized phone. He ended up using knots on the bottom elastic to aid in installing the cell phone on the cover plate.
The hinges can be found HERE (hinges are 90 degree)
Elastic cord can be found HERE
Any ridged filament will work for this design. this was designed to intentionally be tight on the Molle Vest points. Slide in the top of the mount first and then use a screwdriver or other thin implement to get the lower molle over the plate. Then attach the other assembled hinges and phone plate. Trying to install the completed assembly on a vest will prove a difficult workaround.
