Just made this for fun, the models should fit into each other nicely and can be a doorstop on carpet. Please toss out likes, ratings, and makes :D
2023-11-06 Update
Thanks to user feedback and getting home to print this myself, I decided to build a separate model that doesn't use the MMU. The new model snaps together tightly. This saves on wasted print towers, but also is easy to assemble and doesn't require any glue (but glue is optional).
My test print was done in white, blue, orange, and black PETG.
Overall changes
- Edited all pieces to make them able to snap together with no glue.
- Labeled the white portal backgrounds for easy assembly.
- Added gripping texture to the bottom of the base.
- Changed the shape of the actual door wedge part, to look better and cut out on material.
Instructions
For v2_01 models, print the four separate files (scaling optional). I printed at 20% infill.
- snap together portal 2 black parts v2_01.3mf
- snap together portal 2 blue parts v2_01.3mf
- snap together portal 2 orange parts v2_01.3mf
- snap together portal 2 white parts v2_01.3mf
- Snap the portal stick figure from the black parts into the white portal background(s). It may take a little bit of pressure, but should fit extremely well. Each of the stick figure parts has two inserts, insert one end at an angle and push in the other insert with a little bit of force.
- The white portal parts have text labels, to help indicate which part goes where, but look at the pictures if you aren't sure about orientation.
- After the stick figure is attached to the white background(s), put the orange and blue rings over them. There are three cylindrical cutouts on the blue and orange parts that correspond to the sides of the background(s), so they only fit one way. They should fit tightly without falling out.
- Snap the Blue Portal assembly onto the base.
- Insert the Orange Portal assembly (this is where you might want to use glue).
