Toilet Paper Holder Extender (Parametric)

This toilet paper extender will work for your toilet paper holders that look like this! It might also work for toilet paper holders that look different from this, but I haven't tested that.

You will need to print this model twice—once for each arm. But I recommend tuning your parameters and printing it once to verify that it works instead of printing both at once.

Parameters

Unless your holder is the exact same size as mine, you will likely need to customize this model. I've provided a parameterized version in OpenSCAD format. There's a lot of parameters but the ones you will need to customize are the ones that relate to the measurements of your holder:

• holder thickness: the thickness of the walls of the holder
• plug radius: the radius of the sockets in your holder (you should make this slightly smaller to avoid too tight a fit)
• plug to holder edge: the distance from the edge of the socket in your holder to the edge
• socket radius: the radius of the plug on the end of the toilet paper holder dowel—most likely this will be the same as plug radius, but you will want to make this one slightly wider to avoid too tight a fit
• If you prefer a circle aesthetic, you can toggle flat edges off to create a cylindrical extender instead.
• Ensure that either the inner wall thickness or the outer wall thickness or preferably both are thin enough to provide some amount of flex to allow you to slip the part over the edge of your TP holder until the plug clicks into place. But also they should be thick enough not to break and to hold it in place stably once it is locked in. I've found my default setting of 3mm for each to be a happy medium with my PLA.

There's a number of other features you can toggle and adjust as well—observe the changes in the model as you adjust them and you'll probably figure out what they all do.

Printing

I somewhat suspect this will be the strongest orientation to print it, but I did not test extensively. If you disable flat edges, you will probably want to print it with the uninterrupted flat circle face down Let me know if you find other orientations work better! You will likely need supports regardless.
