Description
I had a bunch of leftover LED strip scraps from another project and wanted to make a fun lamp for my desk.
If you want to build one of these, you'll need:
I have only a Prusa i3 Mk3, so I needed to split the lamp model and diffuser ring into quarters to print. If you have a printer large enough to print the entire exterior lamp base as one piece, I think that's ideal. I ended up needing to shave off a bit of the last diffuser in order to fit it inside the assembled ring. I think assembling the diffuser ring first, and then snapping the lamp around it is probably the way to go, but I was too lazy. I ended up not needing any superglue, it's stable enough on its own to function as a desk lamp. Printed in Overture black/transparent PETG. Supports needed throughout. I found printing the diffuser on its side provided the most consistent look, but let me know if you figure out a better way.
