Milwaukee Packout Compact Organizer - Router Insert + Blank Insert

This is to store a Milwaukee router inside the Packout Compact Organizer box by Milwaukee.

The parts bin could use a lid but I don't plan on having much else inside this area other than the vacuum shroud. The wrench area has a small detent to retain them in a bit so they don't fall out easy.

If you plan on printing the router bit storage please print the test hole first. Each filament is different and you don't want the bits to fit loose. You want a nice snug fit so they don't fall out when moving the box.

I printed this in Overture ASA Red as the color was very close to Milwaukee. I used gyroid infill of 7% to 10%.

Also included is the Blank Insert STEP file if you want to remix something of your own.

This is a big print and you will need at least a 350mm build plate. You can try to split it in your slicer to fit your plate and then glue it together. 

I would only print this in ABS or ASA. PLA or PETG will work but if left out in the summer heat it could deform.

Improved clearance on bit holders thanks to feedback.

Fixed internal support slices for the thumb screw holder. No need to add a modifier in the slicer to increase perimeters.

There is a minor issue with the lid closing due to the router base. It does allow for the lid to close and the lids gasket to make a watertight seal but the lid does not fully close without very minor force.
Ultimately if it is an issue for someone. They could modify the bottom of the packout box with a little bit of heat at the area I marked in black. This is the area that the router base makes contact with. I would put the router in the case, close it tight, and then with a lighter or heat gun heat that area just a little bit so the pressure from the lid causes it to deform a little. Then I would check to make sure it still locks in with another packout case. But like a said, it is a very minor clearance issue and should not require this modification.

Update layout to remove screw hole, center the bit cutout, and add a some more storage options. Old files will still be available to maintain ©
