Description
This mount only requires 1 screw in the ceiling and consists of multiple parts that can be printed flat to optimize layer orientation.
I found other RC plane mounts lacking because either their hole spacing required mounting into drywall instead of studs or because their print orientation puts a cantilever force perpendicular to the layer lines. Personally, I don't trust my planes to drywall anchors or layer adhesion. So I created this model as the solution.
To join the pieces, you will need 4x m3x20 flat-head machine screws and 4x m3 nuts. A 2-in wood screw works well to secure the base plate to any ceiling stud.
I recommend PLA, 15-20% infill, printing each model flat on the build plate, increasing bed temp to 70c, and using a brim.
