Description
My rug cleaner has a handheld suction/sprayer hose for cleaning small or difficult-to-reach spots. The water supply has been spotty when pulling the trigger until it flat out stopped working.
A few Google searches revealed that this is a super common issue requiring the purchase of a new pump for half the price of the whole machine. In almost every case the splines on the hub of the turbine which uses the machine's suction power to drive the pump, strips out.
I found the offending part and made a duplicate but I had doubts about this. This fixed the problem and the machine has been working great ever since.
That's $240 saved for the same model machine and one less thing in a landfill because it is easier to replace than repair. I've cleaned the upholstery in 3 vehicles since, which requires the machine to exclusively operate with the remote hose for prolonged times and I'm pretty sure it is better than the way it was from the factory.
