Description
Update: These worked like a dream for the 2023-2024 season. I'm looking forwards to using the exact same design again this year. I gave some out to skiers for Christmas last year and they were a hit.
There are quite a few passive glove dryer options, but none of them are designed for travel. Often, they're too bulky, don't nest at all, or nest poorly. This design is built from the ground up with travel in mind.
It was inspired by https://www.printables.com/model/357646-tapered-glove-and-shoe-dryer-remix. My model is a complete redesign from the ground up to be nestable for a travel-friendly dry glove option.
It works with different sizes, shown with:
These cones make a good Christmas gift for someone with an active outdoor lifestyle. Since they nest, you can fit enough for a family of 4 in a small box.
The geometry is easy, but the holes make for many hops, meaning stringing is the biggest issue, especially with PETG. I recommend the settings above. I also recommend a heat gun to knock down the strings. A deburr tool can help clean up any extra blobs along the seam (due to the stringing).
The print files are one solid color, but I added 2mm strips of white to add some decorative flair.
December 5, 2023: Introduce Gen2 design. I've reworked the design from the ground up (again) to allow for more control. Gen2 differences:
I've put the old files into a “gen1” folder.
November 19, 2023: Wavy design not recommended. The wavy design works, but there are issues:
I recommend printing the original circular version instead.
November 12, 2023: Introduce the wavy variation. The idea is that the valleys should allow for less contact with the glove and more flow. This variation is uploaded but not printed/tested.
