Description
A frame to extend the vertical height of a Bambu X1 Carbon printer so that a Wham Bam Cloud fire extinguisher will fit inside the print area and mount horizontally.
Installation is basic. Just print out the frame(note, you can just split it up into four parts with a slicer. I did it with pegs and holes to hold it together, but they are not strictly necessary. The edge that holds the glass holds the frame together well, though glue and/or pegs are an option)
Once you have the pieces, remove the AMS and glass cover, place the frame and cloud and then replace the glass cover and AMS. There is a small edge on the top of the frame so the glass will not slide off.
Note that there are two versions of the frame; one that is flat and uses the original velcro fastening and one with a “cage” to hold the Cloud. I am slightly concerned that the cage will generate shrapnel on detonation, but it does make it easier to take the cloud out of the frame. The flat one with velcro removes this risk but the velcro is incredibly strong and is tough to remove. I leave it to you as to the version you prefer.
