Thermometer shaker

This thermometer shaker is a rubber device designed to attach to the cap of a thermometer case. It significantly enhances the effectiveness of the necessary 'whip' motion to lower the thermometer's reading.

NOTE: the case must have a screw cap, otherwise it risks opening while shaking.

This device is particularly useful for modern analog thermometers, which have replaced mercury with a non-toxic liquid metal alloy called 'Galinstan', composed of gallium, indium, and tin. These Galinstan thermometers, while safer, can be more challenging to reset, making the shaker an essential accessory.

PRINTING INSTRUCTIONS

Print in TPU. I used Amazon's TPU, which is harder than other generic TPUs, but it should work also with a softer one.

Print without supports, 100% infill.

MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS

• Drill a 3mm hole in the cap of the plastic thermometer case
• Insert an M3x10 screw (inside-out)
• Forcefully screw the screw into the hole in the device. The hole is intentionally made narrow to ensure a tight fit
