Description
My Froggit weather station includes the Froggit DP80 rain gauge. It came with a 32mm, 200mm long, mounting pole and brackets to screw to the rain gauge. This design has a ball that fits around the pole and a joint type stand to screw to a firm and stable surface. The ball joint allows for perfect positioning (up to 9 degrees of freedom) with the help of the built-in circular spirit level on top of the rain gauge controller box. It uses 3 M4/16mm screws and M4 nuts to secure the ball joint. The mounting holes are 6mm in diameter.
So far I've seen this rain gauge as:
Update 07-01-2025
I had to find another place to mount my rain gauge and decided on mouting it at the top of the wall of a shed. For that I created new parts. Part A which mounts to the wall and allows the existing ball joint with the standard pipe to slide in from below and part B which screws in at the bottom of part A to secure the ball joint. Adjustability remains the same as before. The threaded parts have 0.4mm play between them. Applying a bit of silicon grease to the threaded parts will make it screw in more smoothly. Mounting holes in part A are 4mm.
