Description
This design is based on many paper templates I've created with pencil and paper over the years on construction sites and in my workshop. This new version is the culmination of all my experience in creating sturdy and aesthetic joints between US standard lumber.
This handy one-piece template makes it easier than ever to drill precision holes in a variety of structurally optimized patterns (depending on the joint you need). This single tool fits the following lumber types including sides and ends:
1x2, 2x2, 2x4, 2x6, 4x4, 4x6, 6x6.
The patterns include standard equidistant isometric and triangular matrix meridians. e.g.:
Box, Triangle, Hexagon, Circle, Star, Single Diagonal (\), Double Diagonal (X), Zig-Zag (\/\/\), Closed Diamond (<><>), Open Diamond (XX) Straight Lines (--), Parallel Lines (==).
Spacing is based on standard geometry and imperial measurement with ½" and ¾" margins and a center hole for each template
Scoring/aligning grooves make it easy to separate the four different sections if necessary. Center slot allows for convenient hanging and clear view for work piece positioning. Bevel on guide holes resists counter-sink damage. Please watch the video if you have any questions. Thanks.
