Description
Holder for original DJI Osmo Pocket to mount it onto various other holders. Compatible with Arca-Swiss clamps, GoPro finger mount and standard tripod mount (1/4"-20 nut required). Also has two cold shoes on the side to facilitate attaching two devices, such as microphone and camera light.
The USB port is accessible from the bottom for prolonged charging or connecting to microphone or phone/tablet (using DJI Mimo app).
Due to its larger footprint you can also use it to stabilise the DJI Osmo Pocket whilst standing it on a flat surface.
Printer Brand: Prusa
Printer: i3 MK3
Supports: Yes
Notes:
I've printed this in PETG and it works really well. Print it with the bottom (Arca-Swiss/Tripod nut hole) at the build-plate and use supports from the plate to aid the creation of the recess for the 1/4"-20 nut and the cold shoe mounts on the side. Other than that it should be straight forward to print. PLA is a bit less flexible so the holder might be a bit tight (see Post-printing).
Remove supports, glue the 1/4"-20 nut, etc
After printing, you'll need to remove the supports. The supports for the cold shoe should come off easily and just requires a bit of tidying up with a sharp knife and maybe a file. The 1/4"-20 recess requires the supports to be removed and then the nut to be fitted into place. This might take a bit of fiddling depending on how your printer handles the overhang and supports. The recess is made deep enough to fit a nut flush with the bottom - at least the nuts I have work well, different thickness nuts will obviously work differently. I've used Epoxy glue to fasten my nut and it works well.
Please note! The holder is just squeezing the Osmo Pocket into place, and as such the hole for the Osmo is quite tight. This might cause marks on the Osmo. If you want the Osmo to fit a bit looser, then you can sand off a bit in the centre of the front of the Osmo recess. This is where the Osmo is slightly curved and this way you can make the Osmo slide in easie and you can avoid marks/damage on the Osmo. My printer and my material has created a very snug fit that keeps the Osmo very securely in place.
In general, the whole stand can obviously do with a bit of filing and sanding to make it pretty.
