Description

I had the luck to visit Portland recently, and to my great joy (and even greater misfortune for my bank account), I happened to find the Saber Forge showroom, while looking for an Airsoft store.

I ended up buying a premade Acolyte saber, picking the desing more by the looks than anything else. When I played around with it at home, I realized the big cutout at the emitter makes rather nasty pointy corners, that could in theory damage any other LARP weapon I would fence against (and possibly even hurt the opponent).

So i decided to fill the shape with something, that would complement the desing without dimishing the "crafted metal" feeling with something obviously 3D printed at first glance.

It fits quite snugly without any modification to the hilt, but for combat use i recomend glueing it in, at least when you finally decide which one to use.

I ended up with different variants, that could be printed both from a transparent fillament (Prusament PETG Carmine Red Transparent) or a matte opaque one. The Imperial crest is remixed from https://www.printables.com/cs/model/30840-star-wars-imperial-crest-extruder-visualizer, i did both the embedded single-piece option, or a separate insert for color-change print (printed with 0,4mm nozzle on a MK3S+)
